Does the supervising practitioner need to be on site?
Short answer
No. Under general supervision, the practitioner does not need to be physically present during the coaching session. Direct supervision, which would have required presence, was the proposal and was not finalized.
General supervision is not "no supervision." Practices should define how the practitioner stays involved, for example through orders, periodic chart review and a clear referral path for clinical issues.
