Can rural health clinics or FQHCs bill coaching as a visit?
Short answer
No. CMS states that coaching furnished under the general supervision of an RHC or FQHC practitioner does not constitute a billable RHC or FQHC visit (rule p. 387).
RHCs and FQHCs should ask their MAC and billing advisors how, or whether, coaching fits their payment model.
