Do nurse coaches qualify, and can they bill directly?

Short answer

CMS named AHNCC national standards for Certified Nurse Coaches as a pathway. Nurse organizations asked for direct billing and a supervision exemption; the final rule did not grant them, so nurse coaches also furnish under general supervision.

Licensure may matter for other services a nurse provides, but for 0591T–0593T the incident-to, general-supervision framework applies.
