Is MCHES® named in the final rule?

Short answer

Not in CMS's finalized language. MCHES® appears only in the summary of public comments (p. 381). CMS finalized the NCHEC pathway as "eligibility for Certified Health Education Specialists."

An MCHES® holder has met the CHES® eligibility requirements, but how a credential is treated in practice is decided by the supervising practitioner and organization. Never describe any credential as "CMS-approved."
