Which credentials qualify someone to furnish health coaching?
Short answer
CMS requires appropriate certification and lists pathways that "include, but are not limited to" NBHWC National Standards, NCHEC eligibility for Certified Health Education Specialists, AHNCC Certified Nurse Coach standards, and Older Americans Act evidence-based program training.
The list is non-exhaustive (rule pp. 382–383). Whether a specific person qualifies is decided by the supervising practitioner and organization, consistent with CMS and the MAC. See who may furnish the service.
